Violent video games are making young children violent. Back then, video games were much more casual and had a simple story line, with a simple end goal. Safe for everybody to play, but as graphics develop and the video game industry develops, there are now many more realistic games with violence and crime as part of the game. Those games may be meant for older audiences, but games like CS: GO, GTA 5 and PUB G are very appealing to young kids, as they are played by millions of people and the thought of them having a negative influence might never cross their minds. Children do what they see, it's how they learn, but when they see in the game that they are shooting and killing other people, you could see why this is a huge problem. Now more than 85% of all video games on the market contain some form of violence according to CNN. Video game ratings made by game rating organisations, for example the ESRB, are simply brushed off when young children are deciding on what to play next. Similar to when kids used to play with toy guns in the 80s, actively pretending that you are firing a gun especially at a young age makes you much more inclined to do it later in life because it was seen as an acceptable thing to do when you were a child. Committing crimes in games like Grand Theft Auto has no real life consequences, and children have difficulty differentiating game from reality.
